North Safety Camera Unit announce summer short term locations on A93

Police Scotland’s North Safety Camera Unit is announcing a number of seasonal short term deployments along the A93. These locations have been selected with the aim of improving driver behaviour by encouraging motorists to slow down and drive within the speed limits after the road was highlighted by Road Policing, Local Authorities and residents of the area.
Eric Dunion Unit Manager of the Police Scotland’s North Safety Camera Unit says: “These locations would not normally meet the criteria to become a permanent location but the short term deployment scheme gives us the flexibility to be at locations where we believe there will be a change in traffic behaviour over the upcoming months. We will be enforcing at the locations and aim to encourage motorists to improve their driver behaviour and adhere to the speed limits in place. Speed limits are in place for the safety of all road users.”
Chief Inspector Richard Ross, Road Policing North Area Commander says: “Police Scotland, and our Safety Camera Unit, are committed to working with our partners in order to influence driver and road user behaviour and reduce casualties. With the expected increase in travel along the A93 over the summer period, the implementation of these short term deployment locations are part of a crucial partnership response to improving road safety.”
The enforcement will begin in June and are listed below:
A93 north of Rhiedorrach
A93 Spittal of Glenshee Hotel
A93 South of Carsie
A93 west of Darroch Wood, Aboyne
A93 east of A97, Dinnet
A93 east of Balnault Farm, Crathie
